The Charles Brooks Collective is the South's explosive newest experimental jazz-fusion group known for their modern improvisatory techniques and their mind-blowing performance experiences. Influenced by musical greats like Herbie Hancock, John Scofield, Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Weather Report, Alex Skolnick, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, and Pat Methany. The Collective's modern improvisatory techniques combined with traditional jazz harmonies, fused with modern Rock and cerebral rhythmic application influenced by world music., The CBC takes audiences on an intense experiential journey with their eclectic celebration of music.

The Collective also features a rotation of classically trained, studio, and touring musicians, from different locations across the South.. This diversity guarantees the highest level of musical expression giving  audience goers a unique musical experience specific to the moment that transcends standard formulaic shows.

The Collective's debut show took place in February 2017 at Dyson House Listening Room in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to a sold-out crowd. This first show featured original compositions written and arranged by Dr, Brooks. Following this success the Collective demonstrated great musical prowess in presenting a Pink Floyd Tribute show to a sold out venue, featuring songs from multiple Pink Floyd albums. Dr. Brooks arranged each tune to open solo sections for improvisation featuring each member of the group. In 2021, The Collective moved its home base from Baton Rouge to the Muscle Shoals area of NW Alabama hit song capital of the South. Since arriving, the CBC has been featured at W.C. Jazz and Blues Heritage Festival (2022), Black History Month Jazz fusion tribute shows: Jimi Hendrix (2022) and Stevie Wonder (2023).
